I agree with Sharon. Tip one is the most vital.

I think our personal voice develops through practice, over time and by experience, as our writing grows up. Sometimes, trying to imitate other writers can do wonders for beginning writers. You learn about the voices of others. Ghost writing is great too. When you learn to be aware of what makes each individual voice unique you begin to see how YOUR voice is unique.

I've also noticed our personal voice changes over time. We develop habits and we go through our own life stages. This too shapes and influences our writing and as such, our personal voice.

You'll find your daughter's singing voice also changes and develops through her life. And imitating other singers is a good way to challenge herself. Ultimately, her own voice will always be the one that sounds the best from her. :-)

Well,I sorely feel that for a teenage writer like me & even the greatest of writers, once you have undoubted passion and you know what you're doing there's nothing about your genre you can't do. But get one thing straight, always be focused.GOODLUCK

Hi Bill.

Thanks for this series on setting up a Blog Tour. I found it interesting, not because I'm looking to set up a tour but because I host authors on my blog. So, it was informative to hear from the other side of the equation.

I've just finished an article I posted on my website looking at it from the Host side. If you'd like to read it, it's at:
http://helenginger.com/blogging_advice.htm#blogtips

There are new things to learn every day concerning the Internet. It's hard to keep up with it all! When I cruise around, I don't even pay attention to whether a blog is hosted on a free service or the blogger's domain. And, yet, now I find out that's important to visiting authors. So that's another thing I need to learn -- how to host a blog on my own domain.
